Packaging Design
Image 4:3
Packaging has to do two jobs at once: hold the product and sell it in the half-second someone's eye passes over a shelf or a thumbnail. I design for both. Most recently for a luxury beauty brand, where the packaging had to read as premium under store lighting and still look sharp as a thumbnail-sized product shot.
What's included
-
Structural concept (where relevant) and graphic design, with dielines, substrate and finish recommendations (matte, foil, embossing) for print production
-
Colour-accurate print-ready files (Pantone/CMYK build, not just RGB screen comps)
-
E-commerce-ready product shots and mockups, sized for marketplace and social use alongside the physical pack
Retail shelf or e-commerce first
A pack designed to win a half-second glance on a physical shelf is not solving the same problem as one that only needs to read well as a 600px product thumbnail. I scope which one (or both) a project actually needs before designing, rather than treating every project the same way.
